Working with no. 6 support

I invite you to utilize this course in whatever way serves you to get the most value. I would listen to the audio a couple of times and read through all of the content to begin and see what jumps out at you. Maybe you know exactly what you want to dive into or you visit a piece of it everyday working your way through. Another option is grabbing a tool or a few and work with them for 30 days noticing what shifts or doesn’t and then experiment with a new one.

If you’d like to inject some whimsy + have some daily guidance. Here is a 30 Days to a more balanced THIRD EYE Deck. You can print the pages and cut them into cards; fold them and put them in a bowl, and then draw a card each day to offer you a focus.

The process of individuation mirrors the unfolding of the chakras, where we reclaim the shadow, establish our autonomy, integrate our anima and animus, express our individuality, recognize our archetypal influences, and integrate all these elements into a greater wholeness.

Anatomy associated with The Third Eye: brain, eyebrows, eyes, forehead, neurotransmitters + carotid plexus, the pineal gland which controls the clockwork of our secretions and rhythms as well as regulation of hormone function.

Because of the THIRD EYE’S connection to the brain and therefore neurotransmitters it is vastly responsible for mood.

Element: Light

SOME THEMES ASSOCIATED WITH THE THIRD EYE:

  • The control board of our spiritual, mental, emotional and physical being.

  • Intuition, our higher knowing and wisdom. It gives us the ability to align ourselves with our inner knowing of what nurtures us.

  • Perception

  • Imagination

  • Memory

  • The ability to remember (or not) our dreams

  • Insight/Vision; asks us to trust that our internal wisdom and knowing will lead the way.

  • Our passage to Spirit; seen as the portal of enlightenment for many cultures and religions

  • Archetypal energies

  • Creative Intelligence

DEFICIENCY:: not enough vital energy in this area from energy leaking. The energy may flow in but there are poor boundaries and energy can’t be contained like a sink without a plug. It’s important here to create a boundary to contain the energy. Deficiency may lead to insensitivity or a difficulty in picking up on social queues, poor vision, poor memory, lack of imagination, difficulty visualizing, poor dream recall (everyone dreams, every night… there are some interesting theories around dreams in Human Design), denial or monopolization, an inability to see other side (particularly problematic for people with open Ajna centers).

EXCESS: too much energy flowing in, the sink is overflowing. This happens when energy is drawn from lower chakras therefore not grounding in reality, like a snow globe not allowed to settle. This can result in hallucinations, delusions, obsessions, a difficulty concentrating, too much energy all up in the head. Someone with excess energy here might fall prey to a psychic or guru, taking everything as gospel without discernment or listening in to themselves to see what resonates, to find their own truth.

Physical imbalance can result in headaches, thyroid issues, eye and/or ear issues, stroke, spinal difficulties and seizures. One might have recurring nightmares. As always it’s possible to have elements of both excess and deficiency at the same time.

_____________

BALANCE:

  • aligned with Source/Higher Self/Divine Guidance

  • balancing of ones personality and moods, a state of equilibrium

  • able to process within the realm of experience

  • decisiveness

  • following ones dreams

  • an ability to separate truth from illusion

  • a trust in one’s own ability

  • understanding ones personal truth

  • more focus on trust and positive expectation than fear

Your friendly reminder that dark matter comprises 25 percent of the mass energy budget of the cosmos, while dark energy comprises 70 percent, and the normal matter that you and I are made of is just a wee 5 percent. And it’s all connected by a cosmic web of filamentary bridges that stretch across millions of lightyears. Carry on.

JOURNAling

  • Daydream Journaling.

Spend some time each morning or when you feel called getting in touch with your big dreams. How do you want to feel? What do you want to create for yourself in the next month? 3 months? 6 months? What is that big dream? Write it all out, bring in details through all of your senses. What does it look like, smell like, taste like, sound like, feel like? Who’s there? What are you wearing? What is the environment? How do you feel?

  • Dream Journaling.

Set the intention each evening before you go to bed to remember your dreams. Keep a notepad by your bed.

It can help before you go to sleep to remember your day in reverse. I like to use this time also to check in for missed opportunities of alignment, to empty out, as well as to amplify all the high vibes.

When you first wake up, before moving, see how much you can remember from your dreams in their entirety and then jot it down.

What does it mean to you? Rather than say, googling what do spiders mean… think about what spiders mean to you first.

Think about each element (person/animal/item/place/etc..) as a symbol and as a piece of your psyche. And then if you like, google. This is my favorite resource. If you enter it in the search bar as well you can often find additional or more detailed information. Make sure you listen to what feels resonate and aligned.

Even if you’re only getting glimpses or fragments at first, like anything what we bring our attention to grows and you’ll likely find yourself remembering more and more as you commit to it daily.

Share your dreams. Make art, poetry, stories around them. Honor them.

Journal prompts

  • Do you have a defined or open Ajna Center? Explore.

  • Spend time connecting each week to your dreams sensorially (see above).

  • What are your particular interests and curiosities right now? Check in periodically.

  • What symbols and/or signs are showing up in your life right now?

  • What archetypes are you identifying with at a high and low vibration? The Carolyn Myss Deck below can be used as a tool to identify archetypes. Pick several that you identify with. Contemplate them, research, get curious and fully aquatinted with how they show up in your life and whether each is operating at a gift of shadow frequency.

  • What patterns are you seeing/most aware of in the world? In your life?

  • Do you feel connected to Source/Divine Guidance and trust in the process?

  • Do you believe you can create what you want in life, manifest your desires?

  • Are you spending time connecting into Source with gratitude, listening to your guides, asking for guidance, watching out for signs?

  • Contemplate your Purpose and what you’re here to learn. Many insights and jumping off points in your Human Design.

Healing

The third eye resonates with the blanket of the star speckled universe that envelops us and gives us a sense of perspective and trust that we are part of a larger macrocosm with a perfect design and plan.

eat intuitively

There are less recipes in this workshop because the 6th Chakra is really about intuitive eating. Ask your body what it wants. Begin a dialogue. Connect in with your Third Eye and ask to be guided to the dish that would be most congruent with your highest good and self.

Like all intuition, the more you honor the insights (even if it’s totally not what you thought), the more easily and readily those intuitive hits will come.

OTHER QUICK TIPS

  • Healthy fats encourage more flow in the body (from 2nd to 6th) and can aid in releasing depression.

  • Curry + Chai especially resonate with The Third Eye.

  • Season your food with fresh herbs + spices. Spices work primarily through the 6th Chakra and influence the other energy centers.

  • Curbing nighttime eating is good sleep hygiene, leading to deeper sleep and less nightmares (especially anything high on the glycemic index or caffeinated).

  • Keep a food journal to see how what you’re eating may be affecting your mood.

  • Eat “purple” foods: eggplant, purple cabbage, red kale, purple potato, purple broccolini, berries, figs, plums, and red grapes.

FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE DATE CAKE
Adapted from Green Kitchen Travels

The original recipe uses ground hazelnuts which I am sure lend a fabulous flavor but almond meal was on hand. I also chose to use buttermilk instead of the orange juice and zest because I have an aversion to citrus and chocolate together. If you are not crazy like me, it sounds really different and surely lovely. The original recipe calls for an 8" springform pan and I only own a 10" and used it anyway. If you have an 8", give it a little more cooking time to make up for the depth of the cake.

  • 1 1/2 cups almond meal

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • About 25 (2 cups) soft dates, pitted and roughly chopped

  • 1/3 cup buttermilk

  • 5 eggs, seperated

  • 3 Tbsp. natural cocoa powder

  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

  • 7 ounces dark chocolate

  • 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter

  • // for topping //

  • whipping cream (8 ounces whipping cream whisked with 3 T. powdered sugar and a dash of vanilla)

  • OR coconut cream (chill a can of full fat coconut milk overnight, scoop off the firm top and beat it with 2 T. powdered sugar or maple syrup)

  • 1 1/2 cups mixed berries, chopped small (I used pom seeds, blackberries and strawberries)

  • Serves 8

bluebutterflypeaflower

A bit of Magic…

The Blue Butterfly Pea Flower also often comes out purple, so nourishing to the Crown as well. It packs some real flower power and has a plethora of health benefits outside of just being, well, pretty cool. It gets its scientific name because its bloom has a similar shape to the female genitalia (so also Root support). It is great for memory, stress reduction, soothing inflammation, balancing bacteria levels and much more and has been revered in Ayurvedic, Asian and Middle Eastern medicine long before catching any attention by modern science. You can get it in a dried flower for tea or a powder in which you can turn pretty much any dish bright blue or purple (you can get more purple if you add lemon or lime juice). In tea you can watch it change color as you add the citrus (a fun experiment for kids as well).

mindfulness

Find a comfortable seat and set a timer for a period of time (5, 10, 20 minutes…). Find some stillness. Begin to watch your thoughts. Observe the beginning, middle, and end as it drifts off. Notice how the thought changes once you bring your awareness to it and then observe it as it disappears completely before allowing yourself to move to a new thought. It is more challenging to focus on it as it vanishes, but this is important, rather than just jumping to a new thought.

If you notice yourself participating in the thoughts, getting caught up in the content of them rather than just observing, no worries, just untangle yourself, mentally step back and re-commit to observing.

We are not fighting with, trying to control or quiet our minds in any way. We are simply watching: the thought arises, we bring awareness and watch as it changes and stay with it till it vanishes. Then we rest in the quiet till the next thought arises: rinse and repeat.

***Daily meditation can make it easier to connect into your inner voice. Think of it as settling turbulent water. Dedicated practice can calm the surface (our monkey minds) so we can more clearly see what wisdom lies beneath.

exercise

Practice tuning in to your Third Eye several times/day while you’re out and about or when you want to feel connected. This exercise can feel particularly helpful for those who have excess energy here, who feel all their energy up in their head, who are caught up in thoughts, who are decision making with their mind instead of their Strategy + Authority.

Pause. Deepen your breath. Bring you awareness to the space between your eyes. Invite it to soften. Take several deep breaths and with every exhale imagine your mind sinking down into you body. Become aware of any physical sensations. Repeat. As you do this several times you will bring your awareness into a more embodied place, be more tuned into your environment and find easier access to your inner guidance system.

We are not searching for our inner voice but quieting the noise and connecting in to allow it to arise. Rest in the present with soft expectation but without attachment.

visualize

Strengthen your capacity to visualize. Practice calling things up at will, also taking a dim image (like breakfast yesterday) and allowing it to fill out with all details, engaging all sensorial aspects.

You can use this for co-creation as well to accompany the Day Dreaming Journaling (above). Before going to sleep create a vivid image in your mind of what you desire with all the details, always holding it gently in your mind, not grasping, knowing that there can always be something better, something more aligned with your highest good and being open to those possibilities while feeling into the joy, ease, bliss of being your dream.

What we see before us is just one tiny part of the world. We get in the habit of thinking, this is the world, but that’s not true at all. The real world is a much darker and deeper place than this, and much of it is occupied by jellyfish and things.
— Haruki Murakami

Practice

  • Listen to your intuition and act on it. If you get an insight that you should go to a different grocery store or coffee shop or take a different route home, or go for a walk, or call a friend, do it. With some intuitive (Splenic) hits we still need to ride out our Strategy + Authority like with an Emotional Authority or Waiting for the Invitation (Projector) but for most day to day in the moment intuitive hits we can act on them when they feel aligned. We strengthen this muscle when we listen and honor it. Quick example here.

  • Cultivate an open mind, ESPECIALLY if you have an open Ajna Center.

  • Explore your Ajna Center

  • Be open to receiving guidance from your dreams and the signs around you.

  • Recognize that defensiveness is an obstacle to insight.

  • Keep all of your attention in the present moment. Refrain from replaying the past or worrying about the future. Learn to trust in the unknown. I love the guidance from Abraham Hicks of “It’s not my job”. It is not your job to figure out how you’re going to get from A -> B. Get clear on how you want to feel. Follow your Strategy + Authority to take the next right aligned action. Trust and release any attachments to specific outcomes or timing.

  • Release self pity, blame, resentment/anger, victim consciousness. Shadow support can be helpful in transmuting any low vibrations.

  • Are you acting out of alignment and expansion or out of fear. Pay attention to when fear is running the show. Explore your potential fears that live in your chart and bring them through Shadow support if you need.

  • Focus when co-creating on how you want to feel rather than any specific ways you think or are conditioned to believe a “successful life” “should” look. Energetics over tangibles.

  • Listen to your inner guidance system and trust in its accuracy without doubt or needing proof.

  • The Art of Magnetism has many tools for raising and staying in a high vibration.

  • Make a mandala in nature. Walk through nature noticing the details.

  • Go through a museum or watch a film or documentary that is visually stimulating.

  • Exercise creativity visually: paint, color, draw, collage, take pictures, bring beauty into your environment and your home.

  • Hunt for visual beauty in the world.

  • Notice patterns in the natural and human-created world. Recognize patterns in your life and the people around you.

  • Get to know your many archetype and their respective patterns.

  • Explore your Purpose through Human Design in The Meeting Ground.

  • Ask the Universe for signs. I speak about this in the audio.

  • Explore Shamanic Journeying if you feel called.

  • Color your Chakras!

  • Explore the Third Eye mood board and/or make your own.

The Third Eye Chakra of the Earth

Did you know the Earth has Chakras? My travels through Joshua Tree and Sedona put me in touch with the energetic vortexes that live there and I've always found them to be quite powerful.

Many of these places were designed using sacred geometry. These powerful locations are also connected to eachother through ley lines, invisible lines which intertwine to create an infinity symbol. Similar to our own electromagnetic field, these veins create a grid of energy throughout the planet. Not only that, but many believe they connect us to other planets and constellations creating a greater web of cosmic consciousness. As in working with the energetics of our own aura, many ancient civilizations knew the power of working with these sacred places to connect to greater levels of well being and higher levels of consciousness.
