Mountains Questions
Contemplations for greater alignment with your Mountains Environment:
Do you allow yourself distance from the group when you need? A moment to step away. If you have a Mountains kid, do you allow them to sneak off to their room? It’s important for a Mountains person to disconnect and have time on their own to regroup.
When you are feeling lost, do you take time away to widen your lens and get some perspective?
Do you sing in the car? In the shower? At karaoke? Do you nourish your Throat? Your lungs?
Do you burn herbs or incense to shift the vibe + clear energy? Smoke can feel aligned + cleansing for some Mountains. You might want to experiment with different plants to see what feels the most nourishing + restorative.
While I’m not advocating smoking, it may feel supportive to experiment with plant medicine, herbal cigarettes, etc.. if that feels good for you.
What’s your elevation situation? Do you live or work off the ground floor? Does your mountains kid have a treehouse? Do you drive an SUV rather than a low car? Do you get seats in the nose bleeds rather than in the pit? Can you build out your attic as place to support yourself? A good tree around for climbing? An opportunity to put your bedroom on the second floor? Can you build a loft? Put your Mountains kid on a top bunk?
Do you spend ample time in nature? And just getting fresh air? Even a quick walk outside to clear your head can be really helpful for Mountains. Notice when you need a little fresh air and honor it.
Do you getaway often, honoring this intrinsic need? A road trip for the weekend? A home away from home? A vacation to a far away land… maybe along one of your supportive lines?
Do you take time on your own? Similar to a 2 line, you need to allow yourself solitude.
Are you drawn to hiking, mountain biking or climbing, performing on a stage, living in a high rise - what are the ways you feel naturally drawn to higher elevations?
Do you feel well resourced? Do you have access to meeting your needs in your environment? Do you know what is available to you? What are your trusted sources that you turn to again and again? Including people. Your go-tos. How might you creatively use the resources available to you?
What is your relationship to your breath? Easeful? Do you hold your breath? Do you support yourself with breathwork or pranayama?
Who are the people and communities you feel aligned with? Do you have access to groups or networks that feel resonant? That you elevate in some way and that elevate you? This environment includes a transpersonal element + a desire for resonant community and also a detachment from that community when needed.
Do you take the seat with the ‘wide angle lens’? Park yourself at a party in the corner so you can see the entire room? Orient where you have expansive views?
How do you remain above “it”? Above the drama. Above the muck others get caught up in. How does your vantage point support this? In what ways can you commit to “taking the high road”? Take a breath, go for a walk, getaway for a weekend, create a pause and allow for a shift.
Do the folks you surround yourself with also stay above it? These are your people, and it is helpful for you in your life to find your people.
How can you better follow your Strategy + Authority to naturally align with people who will lift you up rather than drag you down?
Where are the places around you, in your home, in your community, at a retreat, second home, or favorite vacation spot where you feel like you can escape it all?
In what areas of your life can you move toward expansion over contraction?
ASTROCARTO: Are you supported or challenged by the energy of the location you’re marinating in according to your astrology?
Exploring your environment does not mean you need to pick up and move (though you can) but it’s more about how to utilize the resources in your environment currently, to lean in in the ways possible, to pay attention to how you feel. Our environment is not necessarily specific to an actual landscape/place but to resources, access to what we need, and how we uniquely thrive. Take regular inventory. Experiment.
